    • Description: This guided stroll along the beach will get your family moving while discovering all the shells and other marine life that can be found on our sandy shores. Challenge yourself to see how much of the "good" (native shells and marine life) the "bad" (discarded balloons, fishing gear and trash) and the "ugly" (invasive species) you and your family can identify. A fun time for all ages!

  • Private Programs
    • Description: MMA offers a variety of private workshops, tours, and field trips. Spend the morning birding with our ecologist, then come back to Vestal Street to tour our historical buildings, Natural Science Museum and the Aquarium. After lunch, travel to a local beach and comb the beaches for sea creatures, then end the day with a private tour and viewing at Loines Observatory. This is just one example of a full day of fun and education. Programs can be catered to your needs. These private programs are perfect for family outings, wedding weekend activities, birthday parties, reunions, and college groups.     • Description: Get prepared for the start of scallop season. Learn about equipment, the process of catching and cleaning scallops, how to age them, and what to look for in the field. Proceeds to benefit the Nantucket Shellfish Association.
